URGENT: ISIS Loses Last Stretch of Syria-Turkey Border
Turkish forces and Syrian rebels expelled the Islamic State (ISIS / Daesh / ISIL / IS) terrorist group from the last areas of the Syrian-Turkish border under their control on Sunday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
“IS [Daesh / ISIS / ISIL] has lost its contact with the outside world after losing the remaining border villages between the Sajur River ... and Al-Rai,” the Britain-based monitor said.

Kurdish Peshmerga forces retook a swath of northe Iraq late last month from Islamic State (ISIS / Daesh / ISIL / IS) and days later American forces appeared in the area, the latest sign of increasing US military activity in the country.
About a dozen US troops were still there this week and spent Wednesday (August 31) supervising Iraqi army engineers repairing a 45 km (28 miles) bridge southeast to help local forces cross the Great Zab river in their push towards Mosul, the militants' de facto capital in Iraq which Baghdad wants to retake this year.
Loath to become mired in another conflict overseas, the White House has insisted there will be no American "boots on the ground" in Iraq, but current troop levels are approaching 5,000.
That is still a fraction of the 170,000 deployed at the height of the nine-year occupation that toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003, sparking an al Qaeda-backed insurgency and throwing the country into a sectarian civil war.

Forces loyal to Libya’s UN-backed Unity Govement say they have made further progress in their fight against Islamic State (ISIS / Daesh / ISIL / IS) terrorist group militants in Sirte.
With the help of US airstrikes, fighters claimed to have secured Residential Area Number Three over the weekend, and are now attacking the ISIS group's last remaining positions in the coastal city.
Sirte has seen intense fighting in the last few months between govement forces and ISIS fighters, who gained a foothold in the country following the power struggle and security vacuum left in the wake of the downfall of Moammar Gadhafi's regime in 2011.
The Libyan forces, mostly from the adjacent city of Misrata, support a United Nations-brokered govement based in Tripoli.
Efforts to bring unity to the deeply divided North African country were dealt a major blow earlier this month when the Tobruk parliament voted "no confidence" in the UN-backed govement based in the capital, Tripoli.

Commander of the Iraqi Volunteer Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) Jabar al-Mamouri has said that the ISIL has arrested tens of its terrorists for escaping the battlefield in the city of al-Sharqat in Salahuddin province.
“One of the ISIL's Saudi terrorists, nom de guerre Abu Hazifeh, committed suicide by jumping from a high building in the center of al-Sharqat city after escaping from ISIL’s jail where he was kept for fleeing the battlefield,” al-Mamouri said.
He noted that Abu Hazifeh tried to escape from al-Sharqat to Mosul after the ISIL failed to capture the Syrian army’s military positions in al-Sharqat over the past five weeks and the terrorist group sustained high casualties, but he was arrested.
Al-Mamouri reiterated that tens of the ISIL terrorists who have lost their morale and fled the war have been jailed in al-Sharqat’s main jail.

ISIS has resorted to committing atrocities against civilians and has executed nine youths of Mosul with an electric chainsaw.
As the Daesh terrorist group loses ground in the Middle East, it is resorting to committing atrocities against civilians.
On Tuesday, the terrorist group reported that Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, its second-in-command, was dead — one of 40 terrorists killed in a Russian airstrike in the Aleppo province.
Losing influence and strength in the region, Daesh has reportedly resorted to new acts of horrific depravity, killing young people tied to a pole in a public square in the city of Mosul. "ISIS fighters have executed nine youths of Mosul. The outfit accused that these youths belonged to an anti-ISIS resistance faction," a source inside the city told Iraqi News. "The death sentence pronounced by ISIS sharia court stated that the men should be tied to an iron pole in the center of Tal Afar Square in Mosul and then sliced into two with an electric chainsaw." Former colonial power France said Thursday it was “extremely conceed” about post-election violence in Gabon and urged all sides to exercise “maximum restraint.”
“There is no place for violence in an electoral process,” said Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in a statement, after reports of deadly clashes following the re-election of President Ali Bongo in disputed polls.
“Contesting the presidential election results must be done by legal means,” as part of a transparent and impartial process.
“It is in this way that the integrity of the polls can be established beyond doubt,” Ayrault said.

Turkish forces continued to remove mines and booby traps left by Islamic State (ISIS / Daesh / ISIL / IS) in Jarablus, close to Syria-Turkey border on Thursday, Al-Alam News Network reports.
Rising thick black smoke from controlled explosions in Syria’s Jarablus could be seen from across the border in the Turkish town of Karkamis.
It follows operation “Euphrates Shield,” in which Turkish troops and tanks entered Syria in support of terrorists (rebels) for the first time.
The offensive began on August 24 with the swift capture of Jarablus, a town a few kilometers inside Syria that was held by ISIS.
The bulk of Turkish-backed forces have since moved further south into territory held by militias loyal to the Kurdish-aligned Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a coalition supported by Washington in its bid to defeat the ISIS terrorists.
Turkish military vehicles shuttled in and out of Syria on Thursday, including a construction machine that helped flatten the route for a tank.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Thursday insisted his country would not relax its contested anti-terror laws, a key condition laid down by the European Union for giving Turks visa-free access to the bloc.
Yildirim pointed to the series of terror attacks that have rocked Turkey in the past year in telling visiting EU Parliament chief Martin Schulz the govement would maintain its hardline stance.
“We have made it clear to the European Union and Mr. Schulz that we caot amend our anti-terror laws under the current circumstances. It is a matter of life or death for us,” Yildirim told a joint news conference with Schulz.
The EU in March reached a deal with Turkey to halt the mass flow of migrants across the Mediterranean in retu for a set of incentives, including billions of euros in aid for refugees on Turkish soil and visa-free travel for Turkish citizens.
But before scrapping the visa requirement, the EU says Ankara must amend its draconian security laws, which have beادامه مطلب
